Sunflower Seed Spread

I love nut and seed butters, but am not a fan of how expensive they can be. So I’ve decided to see what might happen if I made my own. This is sunshine butter! It’s made with raw sunflower seeds and coconut oil. Packed with super healthy fats, protein and an array of minerals, this jar cost about two dollars! Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free and I’m sold! This will be perfect for breakfast and baking.

Sunflower Seed Spread

  • 2 cups raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 2 tbls coconut sugar (other unrefined sweeteners can work too such as raw honey or maple syrup)

Place all ingredients into a high powered blender or food processor and blend until creamy. Makes about two cups. Keep in an airtight jar. Enjoy!
