Spicy Avocado Cream

Creamy, with a touch of smoky heat, this dairy-free ‘cream’ is a delicious way to spice up sandwiches, tacos, chili dishes or lettuce wraps (we especially love it on our pulled pork lettuce wraps). Besides adding flavour, this versatile cream adds loads of nutrients. Avocados are rich in folate, vitamin E, fibre and heart-healthy fats making this creamy condiment a healthy addition to any dish needed an flavour or nutrition boost.

Spicy Avocado Cream

Serves 2-4.

  • 1 small, or 1/2 large, ripe avocado
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 3-4 tablespoons water
  • 1/8 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (more or less to taste)
  • Pinch of fresh ground pepper

Place all ingredients into a blender or mash well by hand. Add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach a thick, but pourable, consistency. Serve over your favourite tacos, chili dishes, in sandwiches or our pulled pork lettuce wraps!
